Lamp Shade, Tape, and Ink

This lamp has been with us for fourteen years. But last week my husband poked a hole in the shade by accident 😢. Today I finally decided to fix it myself, and made it our unique piece. 

With the leftover ink in the ink-slab, I practiced calligraphy. I do feel that there are things in common between oil painting and calligraphy: They all are about controlling the brushes to draw strokes or lines; mixing the color/ink with oil/water into different shades. I have added writing into my oil paintings occasionally; now I am thinking that one day I will create a piece by blending drawings into my writing.
