"Do you?
What is it with the color yellow?
We didn’t notice or associate all the yellow in our lives as it entered. And we certainly didn’t give it permission because of its color.
But it is all around us- when we are driving, tending our garden, and presenting our range of natural embroidered garments (Including a great new item for SS26)
Take a looksee:
• Yellow Mini convertible:
• Yellow Weber grill:
Yellow daffodils:
Yellow Peony:
(We are waiting for the arrival of our tree peony flowers, called the “Yellow Yao” or the “King of Tree Peonies.” We will share pics when it blooms)
Yellow Chrysanthemum, “Nature’s Fingers:”
So is it any wonder that we would interpret them for men and women in our Lotus & Michael range?
Here’s the 100% cotton Queen of the Jungle:
And doesn’t our Lioness embroidery look like our daffodil?
And, the latest and greatest addition to our Plant Dyed collection, the 100% cotton Leap Gardenia shirt:
OMG, is that an original oil painting of Lotus wearing our Queen of the Jungle yellow shirt, tending our Loofahs? It is!
Here’s another yellow flower:
But actually, this vibrant yellow color is derived from the fruit of the Gardenia Jasminoides, known in East Asia as Zhi Zi, a beautiful orange fruit:
This is not a new idea. This fruit has been used for dyeing, eating and tea for more than 2000 years in China, Japan and Korea.
Our Leap Gardenia treasures an ancient flower that still produces exquisite natural beauty—in yellow.
To top it all off, one day when we were walking in the park wearing our Yellow shirts (what a coincidence!), we found—A Yellow Barn!
In fact this video remains on our website home page since we opened it. Why?
Do you love yellow? How does it make you feel when you wear it? When you see a yellow flower, what is your reaction?
New Wave Magazine offers some insight on the color in today’s fashion world:
“Why Yellow Feels So Relevant Right Now
Fashion trends don’t exist in a vacuum. They reflect the cultural moment we’re living in. Right now, there’s a noticeable shift away from rigid style rules and toward more personal, emotionally driven choices. Younger generations, in particular, are choosing clothes that reflect how they feel rather than what tradition dictates.
Yellow fits perfectly into this mindset.
It’s expressive. It’s optimistic. It feels forward-looking at a time when people are actively redefining what confidence and beauty look like. As social media continues to influence how fashion is consumed, colors that photograph well and communicate emotion instantly have gained popularity. Yellow does both.”
And
“The Confidence Effect of Wearing Yellow
There’s a psychological concept known as enclothed cognition, which suggests that what we wear directly influences how we think and behave. Yellow is one of the few colors proven to stimulate mental energy and elevate mood.
Wearing yellow can subtly shift posture, body language, and confidence. People often feel more open, expressive, and self-assured when wearing it. That confidence doesn’t come from standing out loudly, but from feeling comfortable being noticed.
Because of this, yellow is often associated with leadership, creativity, and emotional intelligence. It sends a message that the wearer is comfortable in their own presence, which others instinctively respond to.
More than that, yellow feels honest. It doesn’t hide behind neutrality or blend into the background. It communicates a willingness to be visible, which resonates strongly in a culture that values individuality. (Link)”
Why not put some natural yellow into your life and see how it makes you feel?
