Freesia

Last spring I planted 15 bulbs of freesia, all of which died back in the ground in fall before I could see any bloom. But I didn't lift them up, hoping they could survive my Zone 7 winter by covered under mulch and leaves. 

This spring, gladly I saw that at leave two had survived, then had flower spikes (flopping over though), and finally today they bloomed, made that corner very fragrant. Love them!
