Lavender Dates Cookie

The two lavenders growing in our herb corner have never been used in any our cuisine yet. Recently I wondered that perhaps I could use it for making my favorite cookies.

This morning I asked Michael to cut some lavender for me. He did; more than that, he cut off a big whole branch with two blossoms--Had I known this would be the consequence, I wouldn't have let him do it in the first place.

Anyway, I pitted seven dates, chopped them with the lavender leaves and flowers, then mixed them with other ingredients (Two eggs, two table spoon brown sugar, a half bar of melt butter, a few drops of honey, milk and vegetable oil, one and a half table spoon baking powder, a pinch of salt and black pepper). At last, mixed in two cups of all purpose wheat flour. Kneaded the dough, spread and shaped it, then cut it into the desired size of cookies. The oven was preheated to 375F. Ten minutes later after putting the cookies into the oven, a gorgeous, fragrant smell of mixed lavender and dates filled the whole house.

Having it with a cup of espresso, to me, that's the best taste of a good morning.
