The Place In My Mother's Dreams

This morning I had a video call with my parents.

During the conversation, my mother happened to tell me that the only place ever appeared in all her dreams was the village where she was born, instead of the town where she and my father are living.

I am shocked--My parents have been living in that town for nearly forty years, where no doubt I consider my hometown; but, it wasn't my mother's.

Does my mother miss her childhood? Or does she just simply miss her parents?

Once one day you are getting old and find nowhere else to go, is the place where you were born the only one that can sooth your soul?
